Comecemos pela viagem até Honfleur, por pitorescas vilas da Normandia, tão conhecida pelo seu papel na segunda guerra mundial. Numa grande mistura de verdes com muitas vacas pelo meio (na sua maioria são importadas, sendo as locais as que usam "óculos de sol", veja porquê!). Foi um passeio de uma hora e meia muito agradável.
O regresso foi mais curto mas passamos pela bela Ponte da Normandia (que quando foi construída foi a ponte suspensa mais longa do Mundo) que liga Honfleur a Le Havre e passa pelo belíssimo estuário do Rio Sena. (The following log features extracts from the Ship’s Official Log Book, with the entries recorded by the Officer of the Watch on the Navigational Bridge - British Isles with Ruby Princess May 23 to June 4, 2013)
It was a typical British spring day, cloudy, windy and cold, ordered especially in advance for all those that joined the Ruby Princess to commence their British Isles cruise. Once all passengers and crew were onboard Ruby Princess landed her last gangway and slipped her last mooring line at 17:43. Once all the lines were recovered, we thrust laterally on the berth and maneuvered towards the outer harbor. After clearing Dock Head we proceeded along the Southampton waters, navigating the Solent River passing Calshot and Bramble turns before disembarking the pilot at 20:06 at the Nab Tower. Ruby Princess then set various southwesterly courses, joining the busy English Channel towards her first port of call, Le Havre.
